Genoa

Genoa, state capital of Liguria, is the third city of the north Italy for population. The legend says that Ianua, the Latin word for “entrance”, took its name from the god Giano, protector of the entrances; Giano had two faces, similar to the Genoa’s geography, overlooking the sea by one side and stretched against the mountains.  The port is one of the two biggest and most important in Italy and in the Mediterranean area, crucial port for commerce, industry, shipbuilding industry and tourism. Right in the heart of city, the port lies next to the major touristic highlights of the city: the Aquarium, the Old Port area and the medieval old town, a melting pot of tradition and modernity.  Port of Genoa departures and arrivals: Olbia, Porto Torres, Arbatax, Palermo, Bastia, Barcelona, Tunis, Tangier and Skikda. The sailing companies operating from and to Genoa are: Moby Lines, Tirrenia, GNV Snav, CTN and Algerie Ferries.

Come raggiungere il porto di Genoa

By car: highway exit Genoa West, continue and follow signs to “Terminal traghetti”. By train: railway station Genoa Piazza Principe, approximately 1,5 km away from the port and easily reachable by bus.
